George Lopez:
TV's self-proclaimed "America's Mexican", has made headlines and history with his groundbreaking stand-up comedy and late night show. George Lopez tour dates are currently scheduled nationally throughout spring and summer, 2011.
George Lopez got his start on the comedy circuit where he regularly satirizes American politics, race relations, pop-culture, and everyday life. Lopez made history as a radio show host, becoming the first Latino to headline a morning radio-show on an English language LA station. After gaining attention in LaLa land, Lopez was approached by Sandra Bullock to star in his own sitcom. Bullock was impressed with his stand-up and saw a lack of latino-inspired television shows on network TV. ABC picked up the George Lopez pilot and he made history and broke down barriers with the everyday comedic challenges that he and his family faced.
Although the show was never a top rated sitcom, it proved that it had longevity and currently does well in syndication. The show is one of Nick at Nite's top draws and continues to be shown around the world. Following the cancellation of the show in 2007, Lopez was cast as the Mayor of Reno on the hit Comedy Central show "Reno 911" in 2008. Lopez also starred in the hit 2010 film "The Spy Next Door" with Jackie Chan. In addition to his film and TV roles, Lopez has authored an auto-biography entitled "Why You Crying", and he has hosted the Latin Grammy Awards and the Emmy Awards.
George Lopez currently hosts his own late-night talk show on TBS entitled Lopez Tonight. Lopez made history by becoming the first Mexican-American to host a late night talk show on an English language network in the United States. His hit show has logged year-over-year increases in viewership and the comedian doesn't have any plans of hanging up his microphone just yet. George Lopez comedy tour dates are currently scheduled throughout the US this spring and summer, 2011. Don't miss out on this funnyman when he comes to town!
