Ellie Goulding:
One of the most popular and promising singer-songwriters to come out of England is indie artist Ellie Goulding. Her unique fusion of indie and electro music has created a very popular musical combination that has become a hit on tour dates and on her latest album, Bright Lights. Her light, airy style has made her a rising star in the UK, and Goulding is quickly winning over fans in the US. Goulding's popularity is spreading all the quicker with US tour dates in 2011 that have sold out venues all across the continent.
Born Elena Goulding, the young artist began playing music from a young age, eventually working with musicians Starsmith and Frankmusik while in college. She took a break from school and released the singles "Under the Sheets" and "Guns and Horses", which led to her first ever tour dates in support of Little Boots. The popularity of her performances and the singles created quite a buzz in the mainstream music scene, and critics were quick to applaud once her debut album, Lights was released. Soon after, a reissue of the album called Bright Lights was released featuring additional tracks that audiences also ate up. Included in those audiences was Prince William and Kate Middleton, who invited Goulding to be the only performer to perform at their reception at Buckingham Palace.
As Ellie Goulding continues to work hard on producing her next album, she's also finishing up 2011 tour dates in the US. Still to come on her schedule are performances at Lollapalooza, Kanrocksas, and Outside Lands before concluding on August 13. For those that haven't yet fallen for the music of Ellie Goulding, these remaining 2011 tour dates are the perfect opportunity.
