The group formed in 2001 with frontman and DJ, Dan Whitford, who soon recruited Tim Hoey, Mitchell Scott, and Ben Browning. They were featured on the opening stage for such acts as Franz Ferdinand and Daft Punk and cut material for their breakthrough album, In Ghost Colour. The album was a huge success entering the ARIA charts at #1 and earned the band a Gold plaque.

Cut Copy received more exposure in America when their single, "Far Away", was featured in the hit TV show Nip/Tuck. Their third album, Zonoscope, was recently released in 2011, and debuted at #3 on the Australian charts and #2 on the Billboard Electronic Albums chart. To promote their disc, Cut Copy tour dates have been scheduled on a whirlwind international tour. Cut Copy is Aussie electronic rock perfection.
