Mark Pitta and Friends has evolved into a premier comedy showcase for up and coming comedians and established headliners now in its fifth year. Each Tuesday is a mixed bag of stand-up, but you might also see sketches, improv, music, and video . Luminaries include Dana Carvey, Robin Williams, Richard Lewis, Mort Sahl, Arj Barker, Jack Gallagher, Hal Sparks, Dick Gregory and Kevin Nealon.
Tuesday, January 27 at 8pm SF Sketchfest joins Mark Pitta & Friends with Kasper Hauser, Good Neighbor and Ubiquitous They. Kasper Hauser a four-man comedy team, has headlined many of the best comedy clubs and festivals in the U.S., and won the Herald Angel award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They co-wrote and starred in the feature films Fishing With Gandhi and Cow Monkey, and have appeared on Comedy Central. Their catalog parody, SkyMaul: Happy Crap You Can Buy From a Plane was published by St. Martin¹s Press in Autumn, 2006, and has sold many copies.
Good Neighbor is a Los Angeles-based sketch comedy group comprised of writers/performers Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, Nick Rutherford, and filmmaker/editor Dave McCary. They've performed their innovative live sketch show at clubs, bars, and colleges across the country; and most recently completed a run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. .Their work has been praised by the likes of Adam McKay and Steven Spielberg, and has been featured on CNN, E!, and G4, as well as in Esquire and USA Today. When not on stage, the boys enjoy sports, music, dancing, VHS cassettes, friends, and arcades.
